R.E.P.S (Rules, Etiquette, Pace & Safety)

AT SCCJGA it is important to us that the kids come away with an understanding of the rules of golf and respect for not only others who play, but the golf course itself. We have put a program together that consistently receives accolades from both the golf courses and adults who interact with our kids.

The program serves two purposes:

  1. To ensure the kids come away with the understanding or the Rules,Etiquette, Pace and Safety.
  2. They are fully aware of what is expected of them as a part of this program and on the golf course.

Our REPS program is set up in two phases.

The First Phase

Required for All card levels. In this phase we will talk about Etiquette, Pace and Safety. It will last approximately 1/2 hour. Following this phase the Gold card members will receive their card and the remaining members will be split into card groups Green and first time members, and Bronze and Silver.

The Second Phase

Green and First time members
In this Phase we will be teaching the basic rules of golf from the Tee box through the green. We will cover the golf course boundary, how to drop, how to mark on the green and other basic rules of golf. There will be a short test at the end about what we covered.
At the completion of this phase we will hand out cards to our green and new members.
This course takes about 1 and 1/2 hours to complete

Bronze and Silver Members

For our more advanced members we will focus on more advance rules, how to use the rule book as well as reviewing some of the more basic rules of golf. There will be a short test at the end about what we covered.
At the completion of this phase we will hand out cards to our Bronze and Silver members.
This course will take about 1 1/2hour to complete.

The REPS (Rules, Etiquette, Pace and Safety) course will all be held at Delaveaga golf course or where noted on the calender. We will have some REPS coures in south county.

See Calendar for "REPS course " dates to sign up, attend our REPS program and receive a SCCJGA
Players card (Green, Bronze, Silver or Gold)
